@ 1401 Allah knows the multiple shortcomings of His worshipers and comforts us by telling us not to despair of His Mercy 39:53- 58
39:53 Say, 'O My worshipers, who have sinned excessively against themselves, do not despair of the Mercy of Allah, surely, Allah forgives all sins. He is the Forgiver, the Most Merciful.
# قُلْ يَا عِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ أَسْرَفُوا عَلَى أَنفُسِهِمْ لاَ تَقْنَطُوا مِن رَّحْمَةِ اللَّهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعاً إِنَّهُ هُوَ الغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ 53
39:54 Turn to your Lord and surrender yourselves to Him before the punishment overtakes you, for then you will not be helped.
# وَأَنِيبُوا إِلَى رَبِّكُمْ وَأَسْلِمُوا لَهُ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَكُمُ العَذَابُ ثُمَّ لاَ تُنصَرُونَ 54
39:55 Follow the best of what has been sent down from your Lord before the punishment overtakes you suddenly, while you are unaware.'
# وَاتَّبِعُوا أَحْسَنَ مَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكُم مِّن رَّبِّكُم مِّن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَكُمُ العَذَابُ بَغْتَةً وَأَنْتُمْ لاَ تَشْعُرُونَ 55
39:56 Lest any soul should say, 'Sadly, I have neglected my duty to Allah and was of those that mocked.'
# أَن تَقُولَ نَفْسٌ يَا حَسْرَتَى عَلَى مَا فَرَّطتُ فِي جَنبِ اللَّهِ وَإِن كُنتُ لَمِنَ السَّاخِرِينَ 56
39:57 Or, lest it should say, 'If Allah had only guided me I would have been one of the cautious.'
# أَوْ تَقُولَ لَوْ أَنَّ اللَّهَ هَدَانِي لَكُنتُ مِنَ المُتَّقِينَ 57
39:58 Or, lest when it sees the punishment should say, 'O that I might return, and be among those that did good!'
# أَوْ تَقُولَ حِينَ تَرَى العَذَابَ لَوْ أَنَّ لِي كَرَّةً فَأَكُونَ مِنَ المُحْسِنِينَ 58
